(Whitewood, SD) — A 22-year-old man is facing charges for a shooting near Sturgis. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the shooting scene in Whitewood where they found a juvenile with a gunshot wound. An investigation led to the arrest of William Westburg, who police say fired the weapon. Westburg is being charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, aggravated assault, social hosting and drug paraphernalia. There has been no status on the extent of the injuries to the victim.
