(Watertown, SD) — The man shot by police officers outside Yankton High School in December 2024 has been sentenced. Andrew Jondahl is facing four-and-a-half years in prison for aggravated assault on law enforcement and possessing a firearm on school property. Police say they shot Jondahl after he exited a vehicle on the school grounds while holding a shotgun. The South Dakota Department of Criminal Investigations found the shooting to be justified. No officers were injured in the incident and Jondahl suffered non-life threatening injuries.
