(Sioux Falls, SD) — A man is facing charges for a crash leaving a woman hospitalized and a dog dead. Dakota Thorstenson of Sioux Falls was arrested for a variety of charges including vehicular battery, DWI, hit and run, and fleeing police. The crash happened on Sunday around 7:45 p.m. when a Dodge Charger traveling between 80-to-100 mph crossed a center line and hit a Buick Encore being driven by a 47-year-old woman. The driver of the Charger then got out of the vehicle and ran away, but was spotted and detained by an officer who witnessed the crash. A dog in the Buick died in the crash while the woman was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
