(Bismarck, ND) — A former school worker is pleading not guilty to fraud charges. A former Bismarck Montessori worker is accused of stealing more than 50-thousand dollars from the school and committing insurance fraud by enrolling her relatives without authorization. Brita Cowan was arrested on December 29th after administrators noticed discrepancies during an audit. She is accused of making numerous unauthorized purchases on a school debit card and writing checks to herself. She was fired from the school on December 12th.
