(Canton, SD) — Officials with the Keystone Treatment Center are closely monitoring gambling legislation. South Dakota has one of the highest amounts of casinos and gambling machines per capita in the nation. They say that sports gambling, in particular, targets young men. Voters legalized sports betting in Deadwood and for tribal casinos in 2020, but there is a push to expand it in the state. Officials with Keystone say if it is expanded that guard rails need to be in place, too.
