(Brookings, SD) — The Brookings Fire Department is investigating a grass fire that burned over six acres this weekend. It started on Sunday around 12:50 p.m. near 32nd Street on the south side of the Dakota Nature Park. The park was evacuated and 32nd Street was closed during the suppression efforts. No injuries were reported in the fire. The cause is still yet to be determined and a damage estimate hasn’t been made available by the city at this time.
