(Sioux Falls, SD) — An officer is facing serious injuries after being shot on Monday in Sioux Falls. Police Chief Jon Thum says the officer is in the hospital in serious but stable condition. Police say officers were called to the area near 12th Street and Lyons Avenue for a report that a person pulled out a weapon at a business. When officers arrived, two people were contacted by officers when one of them fired a shot that hit one of the officers. The two suspects then fled and were tracked down and arrested near 49th Street and Marion Road. Police say they will provide an update to the investigation on Tuesday.
