Sioux Falls Man Sentenced For Fentanyl Conviction

(Sioux Falls, SD) — A man is facing a 19-year prison sentence for smuggling thousands of fentanyl pills. Police say Elizeo Kalimba was responsible for trafficking more than 13-thousand fentanyl pills throughout Sioux Falls after obtaining the pills from a co-conspirator in Arizona. A search of Kalimba’s home resulted in the seizure of nearly four-thousand pills before he was indicted in February of 2024. He was convicted of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance in October. Kalimba was also sentenced to five years of supervised release when his prison term expires.
