Farm Bill Up For Renewal This Year, Sen. Hoeven Wants To See Improvements

(Bismarck, ND) — The Farm Bill is up for renewal at the end of September after Congress approved a one-year extension last year. While the bill focuses on nutritional programs like SNAP, North Dakota Senator John Hoeven says it’s important to update and improve risk management programs like crop insurance and the counter-cyclical safety net. That includes the Agriculture Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage programs. Hoeven also says he wants to see improvements in reference prices, making sure they reflect the current market.
