(Sioux Falls, SD) — The Sioux Falls City Council is considering a TIF for the BNSF railyard. The eight-million-dollar tax incentive would go to Christensen Development of Des Moines, Iowa, to help give them financial flexibility to build real estate around the railyard. The company is trying to build three buildings for parking, offices, retail and residential purposes that would cost about 95-million dollars. A small business owner in the area says its time to stop giving hand outs to out-of-state companies. Another owner says that the city feels, “unstoppable,” when they decide they want to do a project.
